Overview

Across the THL business, we own and manage over 200 hectares of Kiwifruit, 120 hectares of Grapes and are currently developing 12 hectares of Apple developments. We are committed to work the land and environment to leave it in a better condition than how we found it for future generations.

This is a permanent position, the normal hours of work is expected to be 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.

We are seeking a Machinery Operator to join our Opotiki based Kiwifruit team.

This hands-on-role provides the opportunity for a motivated, capable and committed person to operate quality, well maintained machinery within a great team of people in the horticulture sector. The primary duties of this role would be to assist our team to complete our spray-program, alongside general machinery operation such as mowing, mulching and structural work.

This role would suit someone who is hungry to learn and eager to grow in the industry.

Qualifications & Experience:

A clean full NZ drivers licence
Horticulture and spray application experience preferable but not required
Must be able to operate tractors, mower, mulcher, and have the willingness to undertake spray-program operations (which will include using self-propelled sprayer equipment)

Skills & Attributes:

Understanding of horticulture operations
Strong communication skills
Ability to follow operating instructions and SOPs as required
A professional approach to the role
Experience in general kiwifruit R&M structures and development (preferred but not essential)
Demonstrate a can-do attitude
Ability to keep accurate records
Have the flexibility to take on other tasks as and when required
Appreciate the outdoor demands and conditions that will be part of this role
Strong teamwork ethic
