At Thompson's Horticulture Ltd (THL), we are looking for a skilled and practical Machinery Service & Maintenance Worker to join our Gisborne team. This is a hands-on role responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles, tractors and horticultural machinery that supports our orchard operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across our fleet
• Carrying out oil changes, filter replacements, greasing and other routine maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking running repairs on vehicles and machinery
• Responding to breakdowns and urgent repair requirements
• Completing WOF-related repairs
• Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and operating safely
• Supporting a strong health and safety culture across the business

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• A mechanical or automotive trade qualification, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience servicing and repairing vehicles and/or machinery
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full driver's licence
• The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic

Desirable:

• Class 2 Truck Licence
• Forklift endorsement/certification
